ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line ó Línea de Abonado Digital Asimétrica)

Es una tecnología que, basada en el par de cobre de su línea telefónica, la convierte en una línea de datos de alta velocidad. Dicha tecnología, emplea los espectros de frecuencia que no son utilizados para el transporte de voz, y que por lo tanto, hasta ahora, no se utilizaban, en la recepción mediante el par de cobre convencional.

Es decir, el usuario puede hablar por teléfono a la vez que está conectado a Internet (concepto que se conoce como Always-on).
